Abstract:
PURPOSE: To relate with a heat recoverable article, with which the connecting part of electric wire, cable, pipe or the like is covered in wrapping-round fashion, and its manufacturing method.
CONSTITUTION: There are three kinds of the heat recoverable articles: 1) the article is produced by bonding the inner surface of tube A having adhesive layer on its inner surface with the outer surface of tube B, the outer diameter of which is smaller than the inner diameter of the tube A and which is crosslinked, by radially expanding the tube B and, after the tube A and the adhesive layer are crosslinked, by cutting the resultant tube longitudinally at one arbitrary position, 2) the article produced as mentioned above, in which the tube A is crosslinked in advance and 3) the article produced as mentioned above, in which pressure-sensitive adhesive layer or adhesive layer (b) is provided on the inner surface of the tube B. Thus, covering can be easily performed without developing troubles such as self-curling or the like. Further, the workability of heat recovering work is also favorable. The article concerned is effectively used for waterproofing and insulation protection at the connecting part of electric wire, cable, pipe or the like.
