PURPOSE: To provide the continuous heat treating device which prevents the rupture of a steel strip occurring in the buckling generated by crowned rolls and can surely decrease the step of a line.
CONSTITUTION: The buckling J generated in the steel strip S is detected by a laser detector 1 installed near hearth rolls C. In which position the generated point of the buckling J exists is traced according to the movement of the steel strip S by a tracking computer 2 in accordance with this signal. Squeezing rolls F on an upstream side are opened by a roll moving device 4 according to the control signal from a controller 3 in accordance with the information on such tracing. The rolls which rupture the steel strip by the buckling are opened before the generating point of the buckling passes and, therefore, the rupture of the steel strip occurring in the buckling is prevented and the line is prevented from stopping even during the high-speed line traveling.
