Abstract:
PURPOSE: To safely obtain the subject compound in high yield in single-stage reaction at a low temperatures in high reaction rate dispensing with troublesome aftertreatment.
CONSTITUTION: The objective 2-hydroxy-3,3,3-trifluoropropionitrile can be obtained by reaction of (A) a trifluoroacetaldehyde-alkylhemiacetal of the formula (R is 1-4C alkyl) with (B) an alkali cyanide dispersed in an organic solvent.
