Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hard disk drive and a data storage device in which cooling of a VCM coil is improved.
SOLUTION: In data storage device for a computer system such as a hard disk drive(HDD) 10 and the like, a means for forming a stream path of an air stream for a voice coil motor(VCM) having a coil used for moving other components, especially, an actuator assembly 16 required for cooling from a disk 14 rotating in an enclosure of HDD is secured. Forming a stream path is performed by forming a groove or a gap with a disk empty wall or providing insert parts 24 in which a stream path forwarding an air stream to a coil of VCM is formed.
