Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a monoazo dye excellent in fastness to light and sublimation, temperature dependency and dyeing properties and capable of dyeing especially a polyester fiber red by selecting a specified monoazo dye.
CONSTITUTION: A monoazo dye of formula I [wherein X is CN, Cl or Br; one of R1 and R2 is phenyl, and the other is -C2H4OC2H4OR3 (wherein R3 is 1-5 C alkyl, formyl, 1-6 C alkylcarbonyl or 1-6 C alkoxycarbonyl)] is selected. This dye can be prepared by diazotizing an amine of formula II and coupling the diazotized product with a compound of formula III.
