Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the visibility of a display screen by retrieving and displaying a specific map which indicates the current position of a vehicle calculated by the 1st means, retrieving and displaying other relative specific maps, and switching those maps. CONSTITUTION:A vehicle speed and direction sensor 2 and an operation switch 3 are connected to an MPU (microprocessor) 1 with a RAM7 and ROM8 through an input/output LSI4, and a cassette 5 stored with a road map in a specific area is also connected through a CRTC6 for small-sized magnetic tape device control. Further, a CRT9 for transmitting various data to a CRT15 is connected to the MPU1. Furthermore, connections of memories 11 and 12 for storing the contents of the CRT15 with the MPU1, CRT9, etc., are switched by a microprocessor 10, one of a standard, an enlarged, and a detailed map and other two maps are displayed on the CRT15, and an indication is sent to the MPU1 with a character, i.e. transparent touch panel switch 16 to switch and display the maps.
