PURPOSE: To prevent uneven coating and the disarrangement and contamination of lip edges and facilitate the positioning thereof in a fountain type coating material feeder for use in coating bendable support such as made of paper by a method wherein a coating material feeding tubular body is formed consisting of an outer pipe having a slit-like lip extending in the longitudinal direction and an inner pipe having an opening and the coating material is supplied into the inner pipe.
CONSTITUTION: The tubular body is formed consisting of an outer pipe 1 having a lip 2 and an inner pipe 3 having a slit 4. The lip 2 is formed on the outer pipe 1 in the longitudinal direction, one edge of the lip is provided with a flat part having a width of at most about 2mm on the apex W1 of its triangular shape and an angle formed between the two edges of the lip is made at most 45° to prevent attachment of coating residue to the edges thereof and make easy the flow of the coating material which has been scraped off. A cursor 16 is also provided over the edges. The coating material is supplied from a coating material supply part into the inner pipe 3 by a pump, forced into a gap between the outer pipe 1 and the inner pipe 3 through the slit 4 and fed from the lip 2.
