Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of jaggy and grid-like distortion in the case of power-varying a multilevel picture. CONSTITUTION: Multilevel picture data acquired by a multilevel picture acquirement part 10 is inputted to a multilevel picture outline smoothing/variable power part 11. The smoothing/variable power part 11 extracts outline vectors for respective gradation levels in the inputted multilevel picture and executes a variable power/smoothing processing in accordance with the vectors. Furthermore, the pictures for the respective gradation levels are generated and they are synthesized so as to generate multilevel picture data after power varying. Then, the density of a picture element is corrected in a picture element interpolation means 12 and the picture is outputted from a multilevel picture output part 13.
