PURPOSE: To realize a counter capable of measuring and analysing time width in high speed and with high reliability.

CONSTITUTION: A counter 1 has a measurement means 11 to measure the frequency and period or time difference of a plurality of signals and a statistic arithmetic processing means 13 to statistically process and calculate the data. A memory 15 to store these data and display means 14 to display the data in the memory 15 are provided. Also provided are a delay time setting means 12 to set the difference of time delays of the signals and output the set value of the delay time difference to a measurement means 11 and a sweep range setting means 16 to set the sweeping from the minimum time to the maximum time in the set delay time difference and output the set information on the sweep to the delay time setting means 12.
