Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a new cephalosporin compd. having high activity even to gram-negative bacteria belonging to Pseudomonas Migula, etc., and useful as anantibiotic.
CONSTITUTION: The cephalosporin compd. is a compd. of formula I [where R1 is a 1-4C alkyl, 3-4C alkenyl, 3-4C alkynyl or -C(R3) (R4) COOH (R3 and R4 are H, a 1-4C alkyl, etc.); R2, which may be attached to Na or Nb, is a 1-4C alkyl, 3-4C alkenyl, aryl, etc.; and Q1 and Q2 are CH or N], e.g. (6R, 7R)-7-[(Z)-2-(2-aminothiazol-4-yl)-2-(carboxyprop-2-oxyimino)acetamido]-3-(2,6- diamino-3-methylpyrimidinium-4-yl)thiomethyl-3-cephem-4-carboxylate. The compd. of the formula I is obtd. by allowing a compd. of formula II [where R5 is H or an amino protective group; R6 is H, a carboxyl protective group; R7 is a 1-4C alkyl, 3-4C alkenyl, etc.; and (n) is 0 or 1] to react with a compd. of formula III.
