PURPOSE: To provide a television receiver having a function performing a proper antenna level display in a state that receiving picture is normally displayed.
CONSTITUTION: On a cathode-ray tube 36 performing picture display based on a selection station output by an internal BS tuner part 23 or a decode output by an external decode part 50 for which an external connection is performed, an antenna level detected by a level detection circuit 27 based on the selection station output by the BS tuner part is displayed. A system controller 41 inhibits the antenna level display when a decode part is not connected at the time of receiving the signal of a broadcasting mode for which a decode processing is performed by the decode part and performing a picture display.
