PURPOSE: To eliminate the adverse influence on human bodies and environment and to prevent a cleaning liquid from remaining on a base by using the cleaning liquid essentially consisting of water and heating the parts of a gripping member in contact with the base to a temp. of a specific range.

CONSTITUTION: The base is cleaned by the cleaning liquid essentially consisting of the water. The base with which the cleaning ends is then gripped by the gripping member and the cleaning liquid remaining on the base surface is dried away by blast (more preferably hot air). The gripping member for gripping the base is heated to ≥100°C and ≤170°C. The cleaning liquid existing in the part where the gripping member and the base come into contact is dried and removed at the moment the gripping member grips the base. Then, the remaining of the cleaning liquid does not arise even in the part gripped by the gripping member. As a result, the undried part is eliminated and the adverse influence on the human bodies and environment is decreased (eliminated in some cases).
