PURPOSE: To cool and preserve foods in a refrigerator while preventing them from being dried more than needed.
CONSTITUTION: Inside the main body of an air washer type unit cooler, a water water spraying device 4, a filler 2 and a water tank 5B are disposed in this sequence from above. A blowing device opposed to the filler 2 is installed so that the blowing direction thereof is at a right angle to the direction of spray. Moreover, the construction is contrived so that cooling spray water and air be made to exchange heat directly with each other inside the filler 2. Since the air passing through the filler 2 can be cooled down and also humidified by the cooling water according to this constitution, the inside of a refrigerator can be kept in conditions of low temperature and high humidity.
