Abstract:
PURPOSE: To accurately perform course guidance without requiring a large amount of data and long operating time by adding the map coordinate of the nearest intersection of a destination at a main road level and guidance course data for detail road from the intersection to the destination on a destination setting list.
CONSTITUTION: When the facility name of the destination is inputted by the operation of an operating means 6, the destination setting list is read out from a storage means 3 by a display computer 4. and the data of a guidance map in accordance with the map code is read out from the storage means 3, and the guidance map based on the data is displayed on a display means 5, and also, a guidance course from the present location to the nearest intersection derived from a position computer 2 is derived based on the map coordinate (x, y) of the nearest intersection in the destination setting list, and a guiding point is displayed on a displaying guidance map as a circle. Furthermore, desired facility that is the destination is displayed on the displaying guidance map based on the map coordinate of the destination.
