Title:
CIRCULAR ACCELERATOR, BEAM RADIATING METHOD, AND RADIATING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3047830
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the beam radiation position and beam diameter constant and enhance radiation efficiency by installing a means for increasing betatron vibration amplitude separately from a means obtaining resonance state.
SOLUTION: A high frequency accelerating cavity 8 gives energy to a beam 17 incident through an incident device 15, a deflecting electromagnet 3 bends a beam orbit. Quadrupole electromagnets 5, 7 control exciting amount, and separate betatron vibration from the turning forming low order resonance. Sextupole electromagnet 6, a high frequency applying device 14, and a radiating deflector 13 are used when the beam is accelerated and particles whose betatron vibration amplitude is increased are radiated. Exciting current is supplied to the sextupole electromagnet 9 so that particles having large betatron vibration amplitude in the beam resonate in the degree staying within a stable limit. By applying a magnetic field and an electric field which irregularly change time to the beam, the betatron vibration amplitude of particles within the stable limit is increased.
