Abstract:
PURPOSE: To form a liq. crystal layer having a high dielectric constant, and capable of solidifying with radiation without requiring a solvent and to produce a liq. crystal device drivable at low voltage with enhanced productivity in a shortened production time.
CONSTITUTION: When a liq. crystal device with a liq. crystal layer between two substrates including at least one transparent substrate is produced, the liq. crystal layer is formed by interposing a mixture of a compd. having a functional group and a cyanoalkyl group with a liq. crystal material between the substrates and solidifying the mixture with radiation.
