Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent the right and left side parts of an upper reed valve main body from interfering with bolts threadedly fastening a cylinder to a crankcase and improve peformance of an engine by constituting a reed valve out of upper and lower reed valves, and forming the width dimension of an upper reed valve main body in the right and left direction smaller than the width dimension of a lower reed valve main body.
CONSTITUTION: A cylinder 35 is threadedly fastened to a crankcase 20 by means of right and left bolts 35a, 35a in front view, and an intake port 42 is formed in the crankcase 20 between the right and left bolts 35a, 35a in front view. A reed valve 48 is fitted to the intake port 42. At viewing the axis of the cylinder 35 vertical, the reed valve 48 is constituted of an upper reed valve 58 and a lower reed valve 59, the width dimension (l) in the right and left direction of an upper reed valve main body 70 constituting the upper reed valve 58 is formed smaller than the width dimension L of a lower reed valve main body 60 constituting the lower reed valve 59.
