PURPOSE: To prevent a linear body from being warped in excess of a tolerance until it reaches a feeding device from a drum by arranging a frame for a linear body feeding device in such a way that it slides and/or slopes in accordance with variations in position of the height of a linear body fed from a drum and/or variations in the width-wise direction of the drum.
CONSTITUTION: When a cable K is gradually fed from the side of a drum, upper wheels 20 and lower wheels 30, constituting a frame 1 for a linear body feeding device, are guided along upper H beams 84 and 85 owing to the dead load of the cable K and a tensile force caused by a cable feeding device 30. As a result, the frame 1 repeatedly travels back and forth in the direction of arrows X and Y, and also repeatedly swings its head around a support shaft fitted into a fixed ring 77. Also, when the height of the cable K gradually fed from the drum becomes lower, the inclined angle of a second frame 3 is adjusted by first and second inclined angle adjustment members 45 and 46. Thereby, it becomes possible to prevent a linear body from being damaged during laying operations thereof.
