Title:
RARE EARTH ANISOTROPIC PERMANENT MAGNET POWDER AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0620813
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enhance coercive force by a method wherein rare earth, iron and nitrogen are used as the basic component by containing a kind selected from Cu, Zr, Hf, Ti, V, Nb and Mn, and the inter-metallic compound of these elements or the compound containing nitrogen is deposited.

CONSTITUTION: The title rare earth anisotropic permanent magnet powder is composed of R (rare earth element containing Y), T (transition metal having Fe as an indispensable element) and nitride as the fundamental component having the composition of RAT100-A-B-CNBMC in the form of 5≤A≤20.5≤B≤30, 0.01≤C≤10, (M indicates at least a kind selected from Cu, Zr, Hf, Ti, V and Mn). This powder is manufactured as follows: after the alloy consisting of R, T and M has been melted and cast, it is heat-treated at 900 to 1250°C, then another heat treatment is conducted at 300 to 900°C one or more times. Then, the above-mentioned material is pulverized, and nitrified at 300 to 700°C in the atmosphere containing nitrogen. As a result, an anisotropic magnet powder, having high coercive force, can be obtained easily irrespective of particle size of grinding.
