PURPOSE: To provide the document processor which processes and reuse consulted dictionary data as text data while holding text data that are being edited.
CONSTITUTION: A CPU 2 controls respective parts in a word processor according to a dictionary consulting processing program, a data display processing program, and a text editing process program stored in a ROM 3 to perform a read process for dictionary data stored in the ROM 3, a display process for the read-out dictionary data to a display part 8, an editing process for document data inputted from a key input part 6, etc., and divides an editing screen being displayed at the display part 8 and sets a reference display area when a retrieval object index is inputted; and the dictionary data which are taken out by retrieval are converted into text data, which are displayed in the reference display area.
