Title:
PIEZOELECTRIC TRANSFORMER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3018882
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a piezoelectric transformer which is capable of coping with a region comparatively low in a transformation ratio and very excellent in reliability.
CONSTITUTION: A piezoelectric transformer is composed of a rectangular piezoelectric body, electrodes provided to the upside and underside of the rectangular piezoelectric body, an input or an output polarized in a direction vertical to the upside and underside of the piezoelectric body, electrodes provided to the side faces of the piezoelectric body, and an input or an output polarized in a direction vertical to the side faces of the piezoelectric body, wherein wires led out from the electrodes of the input/output are provided to the nodal points of longitudinal vibrations. That is, a piezoelectric transformer is composed of input electrodes 2 and 3 provided to the underside and upside of a piezoelectric body 1, an input polarized in a direction vertical to the underside and upside of a piezoelectric body 1, output electrodes 4 and 5 provided to the side faces of the piezoelectric body 1, and an output polarized in a direction vertical to the side faces of the body 1. Therefore, a transformation ratio can be realized by primarily changing a piezoelectric body in width (and thickness), so that even a step-down type piezoelectric transformer low in a transformation ratio can be offered, and a piezoelectric transformer can be restrained from deteriorating in electrical connection reliability due to the vibrations of a piezoelectric body.
