Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a safe device allowing a wheelchair living person such as a disabled person or an old person to move between the lower floor and the upper floor along with a wheelchair without requiring the much labor of a helper in a general home and with reduced power consumption.

CONSTITUTION: This stairway obliquely moving lifter for a wheelchair is constituted of a carriage 1 having a vertical lift mechanism 3 and a riding plate 4 and a obliquely moving mechanism 2. The obliquely moving mechanism 2 is arranged to one side wall of an existing stairway and an access space is minimized by the vertical lift mechanism 3 and the riding plate 4 is driven at the time of non-use to be folded to ensure the passage of healthy people.
