PURPOSE: To reduce the cost of the refractories by forming permanent lining bricks of a zircon system or magnesia-chromium system and forming lining refractories of monolithic refractories of an alumina system.
CONSTITUTION: The ladle is formed of a steel shell 2, permanent bricks 4 of external lining and internal lining refractories 6. The permanent lining bricks 4 are formed of zircon bricks or magnesia-chromium bricks. The internal lining refractories 6 are formed of the monolithic refractories of the alumina system by casting. The zircon bricks consisting of 40 to 100% ZrO2.SiO2 and 60 to 0% SiO2 or the magnesia-chromium bricks consisting of 55 to 95% MgO and 5 to 45% Cr2O3 are used as the permanent lining bricks. The monolithic refractories of the alumina system consisting of 40 to 100% Al2O3 and 0 to 60% spinel is used as the internal lining refractories. As a result, local jointed repair is made possible and the life of the ladle is prolonged.
