PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of wrinkles and curls even when a film is separated from a supporting body when the content of solvent is high, by a method wherein both side rims of a cast film are pinched by smooth surfaces and are fixed by the smooth surfaces through surface contact.

CONSTITUTION: Plate type bodies 8, 8, attached to a chain 9, constituting a conveyor 6, respectively through a fixing device 10, are constituted of the surface smooth parts 11, 11 of the plate type bodies 8, 8, which are smoothed locally across the widthwise direction shown by arrow signs Y in a diagram, from the side rims 12, 12 of a cast film 14, and recessed and projected parts 13, 13, which are capable of meshing with surfaces except the surface smoothing parts 11 up-and-down in two rows in transfer direction, shown by arrow signs X in the diagram. The conveyors 6 are provided above and below the side rims 12, 12 of the cast film 14 and, further, provided above and below the other side rims. According to this method, both side rims of the cast film 14 are transferred while being pinched from up-and-down by the smooth parts 11, 11 on the surfaces of a pair of conveyors 6 respectively.
