Title:
FERROMAGNETIC CARBON MATERIAL AND ITS PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2580509
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To easily produce a ferromagnetic carbon material free from transition metals and contg. 100% carbon by depositing an org. substance on a porous material and heat-treating the org. substance at a specified temp. in the presence of halogens.
CONSTITUTION: An uncarbonized org. substance used as the starting material is adsorbed on a porous material and heat-treated at 250-800°C, preferably at 400-600°C, in the presence of a halogen generating agent. Although the uncarbonized org. substance of certain kind may be gasified or sublimated when heated, the gasification and sublimation of the org. substance are effectively suppressed by the heat treatment, the substance is efficiently carbonized, and a ferromagnetic carbonized material is produced on the porous material.
