PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of connection in image recording, monitoring, etc., due to user's malfunction by connecting a MUSE decoder and a MUSE-NTSC down converter, and in the case of inputting a MUSE signal to a TV image receiver, switching inputs to the decoder and the con verter.
CONSTITUTION: A BS tuner for selecting one broadcasting radio wave is inserted into an image circuit system in the TV image receiver and the MUSE decoder 2 and the MUSE-NTSC down converter 3 are connected to the post stage of the tuner 1. In the constitution, a MUSE video signal is inputted from a laser disk player or the like to the converter 3 through an external input terminal T1 and demodulated to an HD image with high resolution by the converter 3. Then the HD video signal is outputted from the converter 3 to a CRT 9 or an external output terminal R1 for a picture recording monitor or the like by an image processing part 8. A reference TV type NTSC signal is outputted to the terminal R1 and switching between the decoder 2 and the converter 3 is executed through a SW.
