Title:
PRODUCTION OF HOT ROLLED STEEL STRIP FOR STEEL PIPE EXCELLENT IN HIC RESISTANCE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0681034
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce a hot rolled steel plate used for the production of line pipe of API-X52 to 70 grade excellent in HIC resistance at a low cost.

CONSTITUTION: A continuously cast slab having a composition which consists of, by weight ratio, ≤0.08% C, 0.15-0.35% Si, 0.80-1.40% Mn, ≤0.015% P, ≤0.0020% S, 0.010-0.040% Ti, 0.010-0.050% Nb, 0.0015-0.0035% Ca, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities and where Ca/S is regulated to ≥2.0 is directly charged into a heating furnace for hot rolling. The cast slab is heated and held at ≥1250°C for ≥10hr in the heating furnace for hot rolling and then subjected, without cooling, to hot rolling at ≥850°C finishing temp. The resulting hot rolled steel strip is cooled rapidly on a hot line table at (5 to 25)°C/sec average rate and coiled at 400-550°C. This hot rolled steel strip can further contain prescribed amounts of V, Mo, Cu, and Ni.
