PURPOSE: To eliminate the waste of packaging by a method wherein a control device to return a sealing mechanism to the standby position even when the sealing mechanism is not located at the standby position, when a re-inputting operation is done after turning off the power source switch of a packaging device being equipped with an open hole in which an object to be packaged is dropped together with a packaging sheet.
CONSTITUTION: An open hole 2a is provided at the center of a packaging table 2, and a packaging sheet 1 which is wound into a roll form is pulled out by a specified length and cut, and an object to be packaged drops while being slightly wrapped by the packaging sheet 1, in a supporting base 3 on the bottom. A packaging mechanism which is stopped under pinching members 14 by holding arms 18 when a starting switch is depressed, and is surrounded and contracted by a contracting member 11, is provided. If the power source switch is turned off during an operation, and a re- starting operation is done, a pause switch lights up, and it is detected whether a supporting frame consisting of the supporting base 3, a pair of pinching members 14 and holding members, etc., has returned to the original positions or not. Even one of these has not returned to the original ascending position, open position and retracting position, an operation to return everything to the initial condition is automatically performed.
