Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the cord breakage resistance of a steel cord useful as a reinforcing material for elastomer products such as pneumatic tire or industial belt.
CONSTITUTION: This steel cord is provided by twisting a sheath composed of three filaments having the same diameter around one linear core filament. When perpendicularly intersecting the longer direction of the cord, the sheath has a section wherein the maximum angle of a triangle formed by joining central points of each filament is <180° to ≥90°, the vertex making the maximum angle always exists on the same sheath filament and the distance between the centers of the sheath filament and the adjoining between the centers of the sheath filament and the adjoining sheath filament is 1.0-1.3 times the diameter of the sheath filament to arrange the sheath filaments.
