Abstract:
PURPOSE: To monitor interfacial pressure continuously by incorporating a press board and a displacement sensor, which detect interfacial pressure of a rubber molded stress cone for pressing an epoxy unit, into a prefab joint for CV cable.
CONSTITUTION: A CV cable 1 is stripped in step at the end thereof and an epoxy unit 5 integrated with an embedded metal 4 is fit to a coupling ring 3 for pressing a core 1a against the opposite side. A conical rubber molded stress cone 6 having rear conductive layer 6a is inserted into the tapered part 5a of the epoxy unit 5 while surrounding the insulator 1b and the outer semiconductive layer 1c of the cable 1. The conductive layer 6a is pressed, at the rear end thereof, by means of a press board 10 being urged by a coil spring 9. A load sensor 11 is fixed to one end of the spring 9, a displacement sensor 12 is fixed to an end copper pipe 15 and a measuring board 13 is fixed to a spring shaft 14 in order to detect the distance between the measuring board 13 and the displacement sensor 12. Consequently, interfacial pressure between the epoxy unit 5 and the stress cone 6 is monitored continuously and the insulating state is detected.
