PURPOSE: To cut tortes, especially frozen ones.
CONSTITUTION: As a method for cutting tortes, tortes automatically sent by a belt conveyor are arranged for cutting by a torte lining device 6, transported onto a torte raising and dropping device 4 and the tortes are cut into desired pieces by a knife device 1 through vertical movement and rotation of the torte raising and dropping device. The knife device 1 has a torte guiding device 3, maintains a straight line between two flywheels 2 and facilitates cutting whether or not tortes are in frozen state. After the cutting, the tortes are returned to the belt conveyor by the torte raising and dropping device 4 and a torte removing device 5. A device cuts tortes in order to carry out this method.
