Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a method of producing an N-protected-L-aspartic acid anhydride where the drying process can be omitted with marked improvement from process point of view.

CONSTITUTION: The water-containing cake of an N-protected-L-aspartic acid formed through the production process is dissolved in an organic acid and distilled at a temperature lower than 80°C to remove the moisture in the N- protected-L-aspartic acid, then, without isolation, they are allowed to react with acetic anhydride to give the objective anhydride.
