Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a small-sized and light-weight exchanger by minimizing the number of material members-which a fluid contacts, avoiding unfavorable effects to be imposed on the fluid, and allowing a uniform manufacture with a minimum difference in performance.
CONSTITUTION: The manufacturing method contains the following processes; a process in which, to a series of pleats having a top, a sheet 10 is machine-bent, a process in which the machine-bent sheet materials are placed in a casing 12 having an opening drawn by walls 16 and 18 having tip fringes 28 and 30, a process in which the tip fringes are covered with the ends 32 and 34 of the sheet materials, and a process in which a part of a cover 36 is fused, brought into contact with the sheet materials wrapping the tip fringes of the walls and attached to the casing. This method involves melting a part of cover and/or casing, placing the melted cover over the casing so as to contact the pleats of the sheet materials, solidifying the melted materials by cooling and forming a connection in the sheet materials.
