Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an air bag device whereby not only a normally seated occupant but also a standing occupant or the like can be protected.
CONSTITUTION: This air bag device comprises a collision detecting means 17 for detecting a collision condition of a vehicle, air bag main unit 5 turnably supported with a car body to be inflated by receiving a signal from the collision detecting means, occupant condition detecting means 20 for detecting a seated condition of occupants and a driving means 6 for turning the air bag main unit to a predetermined position by receiving a signal from the occupant condition detecting means.
