Abstract:
PURPOSE:To make a setting (automatic throttling quantity) corresponding to the brightness of an image signal by making a vertical scan precedent to a vertical scan for reading according to a reference voltage corresponding to the level of a read signal and a desired throttling quantity. CONSTITUTION:A sensitivity control circuit varies the throttling quantity stepwise through a voltage comparator according to the large/small relation between a reference voltage corresponding to the desired throttling quantity and the output voltage of a detecting circuit DET. For example, an about 1/2 throttling quantity is employed as a reference value and the throttling quantity is set to 1/4 when the signal of the detecting circuit DET is larger than the reference value or to 3/4 when smaller, determining the half throttling quantities respectively. Consequently, the best one throttling quantity is obtained among 525 stages of sensitivity by performing setting operation 10 times. The setting operation for the throttling quantity, i.e., the initial setting operation(VINE) of a vertical shift register VSRE for sensitivity control is performed in a vertical blanking period to set the optimum throttling quantity according to read signal operation from 10 picture planes.
