Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a method for producing a glass optical device capable of surely preventing the stripping of a mold release film composed of a boron nitride film and the occurrence cloudiness of a glass optical device.

CONSTITUTION: This producing method is a method for press molding a glass lump 4 in a rare gas atmosphere with a metallic mold provided with the mold- release film 3 composed of a high hardness boron nitride on the surface and in the case of producing the glass optical device with the metallic mold provided with the mold release film composed of the high hardness boron nitride on the surface, at least an atmosphere in glass molding temp. range is made the rare gas atmosphere and all processes are executed in the rare gas atmosphere.
