Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a new compound capable of giving red-dyed products, excellent in washing fastness and water fastness, useful for e.g. dyeing hydrophobic fibers.
CONSTITUTION: The objective compound of formula I (X1 and X3 are each H or chlorine; X2 is chlorine; R is methyl or ethyl; R1 is 1-4C alkyl), e.g. a compound of formula II. The compound of the formula I can be obtained by diazotizing a 2-aminobenzothiazole of formula III followed by coupling with a compound of formula IV.
