PURPOSE: To make simultaneous recording/reproducing and continuous recording/ reproducing in a field unit possible by dividing a series of video/audio data into plural tracks regardless of any positional difference of fitting individual heads and recording them in plural sets.
CONSTITUTION: A/D-converted input signals (c) and (d) are distributed by a selector 12 as the signal (c) to a processing block 13 and the signal (d) to a processing block 14. Video and sound signals are synchronized with a sector address signal produced by a control block 15 by a leading sector address in a sector area to be reproduced by a 1st head group 3-6. In the blocks 13 and 14, there are recording format converters 50 and 51, modulators 60 and 61 and a delay memory 70 for delaying data of a 2nd head group 7-10 from a 1st head group by an excess of one field of their fitting positional difference. In addition, there are a delay memory 71 for delaying a reproducing data by one field, demodulators 80 and 81 and reproducing format converters 90 and 91.
