Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a back light unit for liquid crystal display being a thin shape, a light weight and a low cost. CONSTITUTION:In the back light unit consisting of a light guiding part, a reflection diffusing part and a light emitting part, the light emitting part is constituted with an organic electric field light emitting element. The light emitting part consisting of the organic electric field light emitting element is constituted by successively laminating a transparent anode 5, a positive hole transportation layer 6, a light emitting layer 7 and a cathode 8 on a glass substrate 4. With such a constitution a thin shape, a light weight and a low cost are attained. Also by constituting the light emitting part with three primary colored organic electric field light emitting elements, the unit can also correspond to a full colored liquid crystal display.
