PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composition remarkably improved in impact resistance characteristics without impairing heat resistance inherent in a polyphenylenesulfide resin by blending the polyphenylene sulfide resin washed with a nitrogen-containing organic solvent with a specific rubber component.

CONSTITUTION: The objective composition contains (A) a polyphenylene sulfide resin washed with a nitrogen-containing polar organic solvent (preferably N- methylpyrrolidone) and (B) a glycidyl group-containing olefinic polymer consisting of 60-99.5wt.% α-olefin (preferably ethylene) and 0.5-40wt.% glycidyl ester of α,β-unsaturated acid (preferably glycidyl methacrylate). Furthermore, 50-99wt.% component A is preferably blended with 50-1wt.% component B. 70-99wt.% component A is preferably blended with 30-1wt.% component B in order to use for uses requiring stiffness and strength.
