PURPOSE: To reduce pressure losses of the compressed fluid discharged from a discharge combustion chamber of a scroll central portion in a scroll-type compressor for improving the efficiency thereof.
CONSTITUTION: A diffuser 12 is constituted by a discharge passage having a converging portion 74 with a flow cross-section reducing along the direction of a discharge flow and a diverging portion 76 with a same increasing cross-section, or having only the diverging portion. The diffuser 12 may also be constituted by a tubular member mounted on an end plate 48 of a non-rotary scroll member 26. The diffuser 12 may be constituted by a plurality of discharge passages communicated to a discharge combustion chamber 68 sequentially with the rotation of a rotary scroll member 28.
