Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain multilayer flow rate monitoring means and monitoring method adapted to measure the flow rates of oil component, gas component and water component of polyphase oil flow such as, for example complex crude oil collected from an oil well capable of manufacturing at low cost with higher reliability than that of a metering unit on the market and small size.

CONSTITUTION: A chamber 12 inclined downward at an angle capable of stratifying an oil flow to liquid and gas layers is provided in a test line 8. A sample flow 15 is removed from the chamber, gas 19 is separated from the flow, and the water fraction WC of the liquid part 44 is decided. The pressure P, temperature T, flow rate FR and density D of the oil flow are sensed and decided by an instrument. A computer 50 decides the volume flow rates of the gas, oil and water components of the oil flow according to the signals WC, P, T, FR and D.
