Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a di(meth)allyl diphenate polymer containing little residual monomers and residues originated from a polymerization initiator and suitable as an optical material.

CONSTITUTION: The di(meth)allyl diphenate polymer is produced by polymerizing a mixture of (A) a di(meth)allyl diphenate monomer, (B) a thermoplastic polymer obtained by polymerizing a di(meth)allyl diphenate monomer A to get a weight- average molecular weight of 1,000-20,000 and (C) a monomer containing at least two unsaturated groups in the molecule.
