Abstract:
PURPOSE:To manufacture a superconducting wire material of high performance by forming the second material layer containing other elements than those constituting an oxide superconductor on the first material layer containing the aforesaid superconductor constituent on the surface of a base material using CVD method, applying heat treatment thereto and forming 8 superconductor layer of uniform crystal structure on the base material. CONSTITUTION:The first material layer 11 containing an element, for example Ba, constituting an oxide superconductor is formed on the surface of a base material 11, and the second material layer containing Y and Cu is formed on the surface of a wire material 12 forming the material layer 11, using CVD method. In other words, a vapor phase source containing a metallic complex of Y and Cu is generated from a vapor phase source supply device 24 and the vapor phase source is subjected to a plasma flame 29 and blown from a vapor phase source supply outlet 30. The vapor phase source gas blown from the aforesaid outlet 30 is thermally decomposed in the flame 29 and reacts with oxygen in the flame 29. As a result, the extra fine powder of Y2O3 and CuO is generated and blown to the surface of the wire material 12, thereby forming the second material layer cemprising an oxide of Y and Cu on the surface of the wire material 12. According to the aforesaid construction, a superconductor of uniform crystal structure is formed on the base material 11.
