Title:
PRODUCTION OF LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH086035
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To allow spacers to exist only in the black matrix part and to improve image quality grade by electrifying a photoconductor and exposing mask patterns thereto, then spraying spacers thereon and transferring these spacers onto a glass substrate.

CONSTITUTION: The photoconductor 11 is electrified and is then exposed via the color filter substrate 6 as a mask, by which the latent image 14 of the black matrix 2 is formed on the photoconductor 11. The spacers 7 are then sprayed on the photoconductor 11. The spacers 7 are arranged only on the latent image 14 by electrostatic force. The color filter substrate 6 is provided with an oriented film 5 and is superposed on the photoconductor 11 after the film is subjected to an orientation treatment, by which the spacers 7 are transferred to the part of the black matrix 2 and, therefore, the spacers 7 are not arranged in display pixel parts 9. The process for producing the liquid crystal display device capable of preventing the degradation in the image quality grade by the spacers arranged in the display pixel parts is thereby obtd.
