Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a new compd. useful as an initiator for photopolymerization of compds. contg. ethylenically unsatd. double bonds.

CONSTITUTION: These are the compd. represented by formula I (where R1 is 1-13C alkyl, phenyl, 1-8C alkyl substd. by halogen atoms, 2-13C alkenyl, etc.; R2 and R3 are 1-18C alkyl, phenyl, 1-18C alkyl substd. by halogen atoms, 1-8C alkyl substd. by 1-12C alkoxy, etc.). For example bis(2,6-dimethoxybenzoyl)-(2- methylpropyl)-phosphine suifide. Further the compds. represented by formula I are obtained by allowing elemental sulfur to react with suitable phosphine in a solvent such as toluene, etc., at 60-120°C.
