Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain safely and efficiently the subject compound which is a phospholipid like monomer, first by reacting a specific choline derivative with a halogenated acrylic acid phosphate derivative and then by hydrolyzing the reactional product.
CONSTITUTION: (A) A choline derivative of formula I (wherein Y- is an anion; R1, R2 and R3 each is H, a 1-4C alkyl) is reacted with (B) a halogenated acrylic acid phosphate derivative of formula II (wherein X1, X2 are each a halogen; A is an alkylene; (m), (n) are 0 or 1; R4 is H, methyl) in the presence (or absence) of a base, while removing a produced hydrogen halide, and then the reactional product is hydrolyzed by reacting with water to obtain the object derivative.
