Title:
CATALYST ELEMENT SUPPORT DEVICE IN MODULARIZED CATALYST
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0719036
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent breakage caused by vibration or thermal expansion by arranging element holding members on the two opposing side surfaces of a catalyst element, and receiving dead weight of elements to a receiving member on the lower end surfaces of the holding members.

CONSTITUTION: Element holding members 1 composed of a stainless steel plate are stuck on the four side surfaces of rectangular parallelopiped catalyst elements 4 by an adhesive. A housing frame 3 to constitute a catalyst module 2 composed of a large number of catalyst elements 5 has a grating shape receiving member 10 horizontally in the bottom part. When the receiving member 10 is fitted in a clearance, dead weight of the elements 5 is received to the lower end surfaces of the element holding members 1. The lower ends of the catalyst elements 5 in the steel housing frame do not come into contact with the receiving member 10. In this way, breakage caused by vibration by a gas flow or thermal expansion of the frame and the receiving member can be prevented.
