Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the operability and to decrease the retrieval time by converting an input character into a predetermined voiceless character when the input character has a specific sound such as a voiced sound or a p-sound so as to retrieve a Kanji(Chinese character) corresponding to the sound. CONSTITUTION:Let a character string to be converted be 'Gaisha'. In depressing the next candidate key, 'Gaisha (foreign car)' is stored in a synonym buffer SB, and since the voiced sound 'Ga' is regarded as a voiceless sound 'Ka' and the dictionary is accessed by the reading 'Kaisha', the corresponding Kanji 'Kaisha (company)' is stored in the buffer SB. In depressing the next candidate key, the 'Gaisha (foreign car)' is displayed as the 1st candidate. In depressing the next candidate key again, the 2nd candidate 'Kaisha (company)' is displayed. When the operator depresses the conversion key, the reading of the 'Gaisha (foreign car)' is converted into the Kanji 'Kaisha (company)' through Kana-Kanji conversion and as the display,the 'Kaisha (company)' is fixed.
