Abstract:
PURPOSE: To allow a single actuator to perform both mounting and removal of a chucking tool on/from a robot and grasp of a work with chuck pawls, and obviate introducing fluid or electrical signals for opening and closing the chuck pawls to the chucking tool.
CONSTITUTION: A chuck device concerned shall consist of two divisions, i.e. a chuck body 5 opened and closed by a built-in actuator 3 and a chuck part 10 which can open and close in the same direction as the chuck body 5 and is normally energized by an energizing means 18 in the direction of opening or closing chuck pawls 11a, 11b. These two divisions are coupled together by coupling means 9a, 9b for enabling mounting and removal in the opening and closing directions of the chuck part 10, to allow a single driving means 3 to perform both mounting/removal of the chuck part 10 and grasp/release of work W by the chuck part 10. At the time of chuck mounting and removal is also used a mounting/removal aid tool 19 which is to restrict movement of the chuck part 10 in the direction of energizing.
